Ah… Winter! The fashionable season! The season of jumpers, boots, scarves, hats and coats… speaking of coats, how many of you bought a brand new coat last year or a couple of years ago and you’re kind of bored of it by now?

How many of you have lost a few pounds and now your coat does not fit so well?

How many of you have the same good, sturdy, old coat that lacks a certain edge, but don’t want to replace it yet?

Many!

Now here’s a simple trick; belt it!

Here are a few points you should keep in mind:

• If you want simply a cinched waist, find a belt that is the same colour as your coat, i.e. black belt for a black coat.

•  If you want to make a statement, choose a bright coloured belt.

• Bright coloured coats are complimented by bright coloured belts and toned down by pastel coloured ones.

• For a bulky coat, like fur or parkas, choose a thinner belt. For thinner coats, a wider belt.

• Always buy one or two sizes larger belts than the one on your jeans.
